UAE President is ranked 56th in the magazine’s December issue, which listed 68 most powerful people in the world. In a special article, entitled ‘Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a man of difficult situations’, the magazine focused on the successful and continuous economic and cultural developments that Shaikh Khalifa has achieved and highlighted a number of key situations experienced by Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The magazine hailed the effective role of Shaikh Khalifa in guiding the UAE economy to progress and prosperity. The UAE economy is the third largest economy in the region with a GDP estimated at $230 billion, and ranked 25th in the world, according to the Global Competitiveness Report 2010-2011, which was recently released by The Economic Forum World.

UAE President back home from Kazakhstan

President k has arrived in the UAE...

President k has arrived in the UAE concluding a several-day private visit to Kazakhstan.  Upon arrival, H.H Sheikh Khalifa was received by H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the President’s Representative, H.H General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Area. National Authority for Qualifications

President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed...

President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a federal decree to establish a National Authority for Qualifications. According to the Federal Decree No. 1 for the year 2010, the authority will be affiliated to the Cabinet, have independent legal status and full legal capacity to act.

It should also work in coordination with the concerned authorities to establish and develop a national system of educational qualifications in the state through drawing up plans and policies in this regard within a comprehensive and standardised strategy of the qualifications, which determines regulations and standards of higher, general, technical education qualification and vocational training and how to develop them continuously in order to keep pace with scientific and technological progress and the requirements of economic and social development in UAE.

Under this system, the authority will grant equivalent certificates and qualifications of higher, general, technical education and vocational training – WAM

Power Plant to Pakistan

Pakistan received the first parts of the...

Pakistan received the first parts of the electric power station on Thursday, which was donated by the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan to help the Pakistani government address the power shortage. It is scheduled that all parts of the power plant with a capacity of 320 megawatts will reach Pakistan in three stages, of which the last will be at the end of October.

Pakistan’s Geo TV channel said the kind gesture came from President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan during the visit of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari to Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani president said that the station is dedicated to the people of Pakistan and will greatly assist in meeting the immediate needs of power, stressing that people will never forget this noble gesture, which he described as a symbol of love and fidelity.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered to send a special plane to transport the wounded and injured Emiratis from the family of Mohammed Atef Al-Saadi, who had an accident in Saudi Arabia.

The General Administration of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police to will be coordinating with the city of Khalifa Medical and the Consulate General of the UAE in Jeddah and the Air Royal Jet to transport the injured and wounded by air in “the next 24 hours” from the airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The accident resulted in the deaths of three family.
