His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, officially opens the Green Line today Friday 9.9.2011. The 23-kilometre long track is the second line of the Dubai Metro project — the longest driverless automatic train system with a total length of 75 kilometres. The new line passes through the congested central business districts of Deira and Bur Dubai and links with the Red Line at Khalid Bin Al Waleed and Union stations. The line will provide residents easy access to government buildings, commercial and business centres, apart from the old city markets and souqs.
