Sheikh Zayed, son of H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President, has obtained Masters Degree in Middle East Studies and Modern History from the University of St Andrews – Scotland’s first university.
A graduation ceremony was held for Sheikh Zayed and his colleagues at the University’s campus in presence of Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed and a host of guests and members of the families of graduates who obtained Bachelor, Masters and PhD degrees.
In statements to WAM following the ceremony, Sheikh Sultan expressed pride in his son’s academic achievement at the university which is internationally renown for both research and education of undergraduates and postgraduates.
Sheikh Sultan seized the occasion to announce that the Sheikh Sultan Foundation for Humanitarian and Scientific Research will launch the Sultan Bin Khalifa Scholarship program.
Principal and vice-chancellor of St Andrews Univeristy Louise Richardson, in a speech, said graduates come from many countries around the world.
The University vice-principal for external relations Stephen Magee and Professor Ali Ansari of the School of History lauded the diligence of Sheikh Zayed and described him as an intelligent researcher.
