Fifa Fans must respect their Muslim hosts

 

FANS in Abu Dhabi for FIFA’s Club World Cup (8-18 December) have been warned not to drink alcohol or kiss in public.
The guidelines also warned against drug-taking “in public places or in private to avoid any legal action,” while in the United Arab Emirates.
Emarat Al Yom said leaflets explaining the rules and customs were handed out to supporters ahead of the tournament. They must respect their Muslim hosts. (applause)
“The FIFA World Cup organising committee has issued a long list of prohibitions, which will be circulated among fans from outside the country, including the ban on drinking alcohol and kissing on the streets,”
150 fans of Argentinean club side Estudiantes were arrested at last year’s tournament in Abu Dhabi for breaching “customs and traditions”.
