The 2010 FORMULA 1™ ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX is coming to Abu Dhabi November 11, 12, 13 & 14 Takatof will be there to welcome thousands of fans who will be attending the 2010 F1 Grand Prix.

Where: Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.

Takatof’s main role will be to welcome the world to Abu Dhabi and to serve as cultural ambassadors to the guests of this highly prestigious event. There are many volunteering opportunities available through Takatof for this event that will draw visitors from all around the world. The variety of positions will give the volunteers a chance to prove they are capable in welcoming the world in UAE. The roles will improve volunteer’s communication skills and will give them a chance to be a part of this huge event. The volunteers will take places in many parts of this event through these positions such as Transportation Welcoming where volunteers will welcome guests and provide directional/event information. Good command of English is required. Airport Greeting and this mainly will be Greeting F1 teams and international fans; provide information about the Grand Prix in both Abu Dhabi & Dubai airports. Grandstand Assistance volunteers will Offer assistance and provide information about available services and the schedule of events. Media Centre is all about volunteers supporting the media accreditation and other needs of the communication team, including delivering race results between offices. VIP Hospitality volunteers will have the chance to Greet VIPs at point of entry and provide assistance as requested. F1 & School Exhibition where volunteers will welcome guests and provide directional/event information. Good command of English is required. Accreditation, volunteers will provide basic information for the guests and should be computer literate. Gates Information, volunteers will provide guests with general information and directions. Shahama Volunteer Welcome Centre (SVWC) volunteers at SVWC will be responsible for volunteer registration, handing out equipment and overall making sure the logistics at the SVWC run quickly and efficiently. Volunteers working at the SVWC must have completed Sanid level 2 training (www.sanid.ae)
These positions require good communication skills (English is required), outgoing personality, maturity and hard work and commitment. Most volunteer activities takes place during the events November 11- 14, 2010. Registration dead line will be on Oct.10th, 2010

There is a point that should be made here before anyone signs up. Last year I was a volunteer, and it was all around a good experience, aside from the very very loud cars, so if you do go, be sure to wear ear plugs.
However, Alcohol is served at this event, so how halal it is to even volunteer is up for debate. Personally, after seeing the alcohol served I felt that it was haram to have anything to do with the event, including volunteering, as our prophet cursed ANYONE that has to do with ANYTHING related to alcohol.
I think people should choose to volunteer knowing that it actually might be a sin to do so.
