Dubai International Holy Quran Award

Contestants from different parts of the world meet every year at the Dubai International Holy Quran Award event to compete in memorizing and reciting extracts from the Quran.  The Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) was established in 1997 pursuant to supreme orders by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The award aims to service the Quran and promote the general standard of Quranic performance, create a sense of competition in the memorisation of the Quran and encourage young Muslims to perfect recitation and to honour outstanding memorisers of the Quran at the local and international levels among others.
